More confirmation that the law school should be renamed. It should be the Rex E. Lee Law School. All BYU has to say is that it doesn't want its law school named after a racist. Is there a statue? If so, take that down too.

front page of the Times on Saturday. Very sad.

This does not surprise me at all. I've seen this phenomenon in various contexts in Utah.“We have people in the I.C.U. with Covid who are denying they have Covid,” said Dr. Matthew Sperry, a pulmonary critical care physician who has been treating Mr. Greene. “It doesn’t matter what we say.”When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Yeah I hear the state of Washington/UW wants to rebrand, too.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostMore confirmation that the law school should be renamed. It should be the Rex E. Lee Law School. George Washington is not J. Reuben Clark. Besides the contrast in historical significance to the good, being a racist in the 20th century is not the same as being one in the 18th century. Also, Rex Lee, as a lawyer and academic, is much more accomplished than Clark. Among his extraordinary achievements, he founded the law school and was president of the university. Not only is Clark an unfortunate choice, Lee is more deserving on the merits. The name of the law school belongs to him. Finally, the J. Reuben Clark brand can't mean much. Outside of the school, it's known as BYU law school.Originally posted by Commando View Post
