utah-a-pretty-great-state-73745156.jpgOne of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

I would love to see Brother Bundy made a general authority.
I would also like to see his church resume. Former bishop maybe? That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. Hitchens

Dude. What you're saying could be offensive to some of our posters here and hurt some feelings. Ignoring the intent of your post for a moment (or forever), I'm curious...why the adjective "soulless"? It doesn't seem to fit. Aren't progmos by definition more apt to care more for the human spirit than perhaps those of 19th Century America? What I mean is, progmos have an all-are-welcome attitude while the early church was definitely a more restrictive establishment. Wouldn't you agree?Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostYou got it. Cliven Bundy, cougjunkie, guys like them are the real Mormons; the genuine article. More gems from Brother Clive:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...re-against-us/"Where is our colored brother? Where is our Mexican brother? Where is our Chinese -- where are they?" Bundy said. "They're just as much American as we are, and they're not with us. If they're not with us, they're going to be against us."
Bundy then recalled the time he worked on the east side of Los Angeles during the Watts riots of 1965. He said he sought refuge in a hotel when things got particularly dicey.
"About two blocks south of Harbor Freeway, they were setting the world on fire," Bundy said. "And who was setting it on fire? It wasn't We the People. It was the Negro groups -- people theirself were setting their own city on fire and raping their own city and stealing from their own city.""There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

This is beyond embarrassing. He went from slightly sympathetic in the eyes of some people to a complete moron in a matter of a few words.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
