Are we sure it was stake conference? Last Sunday was a regional conference (I didn't attend).
I have no idea. All I know is that I saw this stupid story pop up on FB again this afternoon and a friend of mine commented that "he had just told that story at our Stake Conference on Sunday."

Yeah sorry it was a regional thing, broadcast from the Big Mac. Dozens of stakes saw it. That being said, you still may know someone that lives in my stake.

I thought my uncle was probably in your ward just based on proximity, but ultimately realized he isn't because they offer Sunday School and Priesthood mtg in his area.

Definitely not my ward. My ward recently cut out home teaching, as well. It is a progressive ward.
SMR is correct. I attended against my will. Frankly, I was offended by some of the content, especially elder Clayton's talk in which he instructed us to leave all thoughts of sports and entertainment at home when we attend church. Thoughts of sports and entertainment are the very thing that help me get through church!
Now that SoonerCoug and Viking no longer post, is DDD the biggest mormon name-dropped on this website?

How recently? Seems like my ward cut home teaching at least a couple years ago.

I should clarify. My ward cut out the practice of going home teaching but allows families to opt into receiving home teachers. We opted in but rarely receive visits.
unfortunately, the ward still promotes the entire slate of relief society offerings, including visiting teachers coming over and ridiculously and inefficiently long Auxillary leadership meetings.

Yeah - sounds like the same as our ward.

You should still consider yourself lucky. It appears that The BYUGuy's ward has high council speakers on a Tuesday morning.
