I can't get behind these sorts of shifts in terminology. Other than reiterating the official name of the Church, they should let language take its course. Its going to march on however it wants anyway.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Thanks. Please don't abbreviate it to "LDS" or simply "Latter-day Saint".

I will consider calling you simply a Latter-day Saint, but I will not abbreviate it LDS. The style guide forbids it.

I stand all amazed at how the floodgates of revelation have opened upon Pres Nelson being called as prophet. We are literally living in the latter days when so much pure revelation is coming forth.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Podcast! You could spend an hour mocking this. Maybe have funk as a guest.

Progmo banter. It kills in the podcast circles.

While a ProgMo podcaster is annoying, at least they’re consistent and transparent. The guy playing ProgMo online while in real life being an orthodox member is both pathetic and contemptible.

                            James the MOTCOJCOLDS.

Branding decisions for large organizations take decades to implement. We had just started a "Mormon" branding effort 10-20 years ago that has been reasonably successful. I know this doesn't really matter. But I'm having a hard time thinking why this is a good idea. At some point the "God told me to do it" angle is going to lessen in effectiveness. I think we're about there.

He's good. He already changed his name to the more ambiguous "JTM"

Also, I seem to recall a campaign a few years (several years?) back that was basically the same thing about no longer using "mormon" and referring to the full name of the church. It didn't really last long.

Of all the things to be concerned with, this is really strange. But in the good news department, all the members who were privileged to do the "I'm a Mormon" vids can get a re-do.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
