Don't bring that up! You might get message board dog piled again.

You're obviously smart enough to know how stupid this statement is, so I'm guessing you're joking, but this sentiment is pretty common wrt to KK/JD/etc. It just typically goes unstated because of how stupid it looks in print. Especially coming from members of a religion whose founding prophet married an almost 15 yr old. People are complex.

Anyway, Kate's been off the rails for quite a while now, and really, probably pretty nutty from the beginning. But again--and I can't count how many times I've said this--she's the first person to effect even a nudge of the needle in the right direction. I'd say almost the same thing about JD, except that he seems a little more self-aware than she does. I am continually surprised at how unintelligent both are (besides their lack of self-awareness), but both have caused me to think about things I might not have otherwise.
it's one thing to defend the at least arguably not dumb movement she happened to find her dumb self involved with. it's another to have defended her personally because she is clearly a scary stupid narcissist who has probably caused net harm to the discussion of real issues at this point.

I don't think we really disagree here. I also don't know anyone who's defended her dumbness.

Nice! They actually get to do stuff. This is definitely a good move and much overdue...and seems like OW is still bearing at least some fruits.

Not enough but at least something. Why did they feel a need to change the name of the Priesthood Executive Committee?

I'm pretty sure it's because in the mormon church, women don't have the priesthood.

Easy cowboy. Let's not overreact here. There was no mention of actually doing stuff.

I like how the inclusion of "priesthood" is apparently "family."

And apparently men aren't part of families.

                          • Pretty cool. Next step might be to let some women on the BOD at BYU. Could use their soft and sensitive touch when it comes to decision making.

                            • Seriously what a PR nightmare. They need to try to sneak these changes in without publicizing them.

This is like a guy announcing at work that he's decided to let his wife sometimes drive the car and sometimes decide all by herself how to spend money.

I will bet the guys wife and her girlfriends were pretty excited about the announcement. His buddies might not be so happy though.
