As for Mormon Women Stand, it's not just molly mormons, it's indirectly set up and financed by the church as an intentional response to OW. I will see if I can find the source on that.
Molly Mormon? I thought Molly Mormon was a term for women in the church who followed blindly whatever they are told. I know what I envision at least when I hear the term. Surely you don't believe every female who is not seeking the Priesthood and supports the churches position, fits into the Molly Mormon characterization?

That would be like me thinking everyone woman who seeks the Priesthood fits into the WWWB (women who want balls) category and I don't.

That is totally believable but if you have a source on that I'd love to see it. I doubt it takes a lot of financing though since I'm sure most of the women that run it feel like it's part of their calling.

The MWS FB group is interesting to follow. It's so Mormony it's not even funny. Almost ever post is a passive-aggressive swipe at OW. It's like a support group for women that want to be told by other fellow women that not being allowed to be a PH holder is okay....and in some cases it's better than being a PH holder.
I can't remember the source on it - it wasn't reddit or a message board. A legit news story. Effectively it's as you describe.

There is a shadowy world of church bloggers out there. One blogger tracked the IP addresses on a lot of comments and found many of them went back to a physical building owned by the church. I forget who it was, but the upshot is that it looks like the church has a bunch of paid (missionary?) people going around and leaving church friendly posts on blogs. I will see if I can find it, but what struck me more than anything was they they were too stupid to mask their IP address.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

                • So is KK still the head of this org? I thought that maybe her excommunication would signal a change in approach for OW, but apparently not. Still daft as ever.

I'm not sure what her involvement is these days. She recently did an interview with the Trib and I would guess that her involvement with OW is mentioned, but I haven't listened to it myself.

Edit: I think she's living in Kenya now, which may put natural limitations on how much she can be involved.

                    • Thanks to my kid turning 12, I'll be in the local building for the first time in many years. I would be happy to have some women attend, as long as they don't try to make me get off my phone/iPad.

                      • I guess I don't remember so well. Do you need an actual ticket to get in?

What if someone gave a lady their ticket, surely no one would at the doors forceable keep them from coming in.

Instead of being so loud and obnoxious, they should just find some sympathetic male and get a ticket and show up and not make a fuss.

I maintain it wouldn't be hard. 75% of the women in the church tell their husbands what to do. Just tell him to hand over the ticket.

I actually think this approach is much better and more personal. I doubt the local leaders will care much if women show up. If I see any women from my ward I'll be sure to welcome them and let them know I think it's great they are attending.

My point is, what does this accomplish? How does attending a meeting you've been asked not to attend further their goal of a priesthood for all? It's a silly demonstration. The fact it's not in front of cameras and media at Temple Square doesn't make it any less so.

I do agree that this approach will be more personal. Nothing like having your personal Bishop or Stake President ask you to leave (if they choose to). I am not sure that is better.
