    Who Represents Mormons Well?

A friend sent this link to me:

Based on the Harry Reid number, I guess to some folks Mormonism really is Republicanism.

How many Democrats are represented here? Reid? Well, Reid's simply being a Democrat is way down the list of the problems with this guy.

Let's just start with the fact that none of the other politicians listed have publicly accused Reid of "sullying" the Mormon faith.

Did Reid say that? I thought he just said that Romney doesn't represent the LDS faith, which I thought was a pretty fair statement.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he agrees with a fellow Mormon who wrote recently that Mitt Romney has "sullied" the LDS faith and that the GOP presidential candidate is "not the face of Mormonism."

I am fine with "not the face of the LDS Church" bit, but claiming someone "sullied" the faith is being an asshole.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Unfortunately, I do that everyday. [sad trombone]

Then there's the whole thing about accusing someone publicly of tax evasion...

Manti Teo. His number would be up near 97-98%, at least.

                            Yeah, that is assholeish.

Romney's got plenty of dirt under his fingernails too. (how about peddling cigarettes to teenagers?)

To me, political position is the only real difference between Reid & Romney. Categorically, they're the same - well respected men in positions of national leadership. So, political ideology is an important part (to Mormons) of what makes a good representative Mormon (to the Mormons in the survey).

                            Or am I stretching there?

The list of people is way too demographically limited to be concluding much of anything.
