They have done dance practice exclusively at young men's for the past two and a half months, including 4-5 Saturday sessions. Today they met at the church at 7 am to drive to Marriott Center where they are there all day in final preparations for this dance and song. They already had a four hour session at the Marriott Center. They canceled Sunday young men's the last three weeks in a row to have combined YM-YW to practice the song. In order to get youth qualified, the ward had to send a picture front and back of what their costume. The ward was given a long list of instructions on what is and is not appropriate, including white shirts are not OK. Our ward's pictures were rejected at a rate of about 70% the first pass, 20% the second pass, with some needing three revisions to get approved. They keep emphasizing how the youth will remember this their entire lives. I think yeah, they probably will. They'll probably remember how hellish it was and how Nazi the leaders were.
Saying "No" at church has made it almost bearable.

It's harder for kids to say no.

Sounds very over the top, jay. Probably started out with reasonable scope and then got out of hand. I suspect (and hope) that "the Brethren" would not approve of such over-the-top time commitment.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I actually watched some of the cultural celebration on the Internet. Wanted to go watch Boise one at church building. Can watch a few on YouTube now. Wonder who will dedicate the building? Tom hadn,t left Salt Lake in over a year. None of FP at that event, Dallin left a very magic area when Padre went to Heaven for a happy valley, grew up in same town as my grandmother, left broadcasting for law and came back to be BYU head haunch of of a few years.

Jeff head haunch of two. Wonder if FP will come down tommorrow or not. Russell M. Was there.

I went o rehearsal of Tf temple day before actual celebration rather Han stake center. Can be good. But I did not enjoy road shows or drama myself. The sol if you mess up I didn,t have patient for. School plays in grad schools last ones I did. Sports anything can happen don,t have to script it exactly right.

Those that only go to church for special occasions i.e. Blessings, farewells, get automatic bye week tommorrow in Utah. Those that use conference as bye week get another one for sure. With March Madness I am sure some people will try to get to the early session.

For other session will tickets be required or just recommend? Some places not crowded easy to get in. And won,t be sol if you have no white Hankey. My brother was in Canada for business found meetinghouse and watched Montreal rededication as it was on, so got in.

I knew a few youth that did not participate in Tf temple dedication celebration did not feel bad. There were also a few less active and non members that did participate in it.

Idaho Meridian and Idaho Falls cultural celebrtaions interesting, and bye week or week of break. I still hope to watch the dedications myself.

It was announced Elder Oaks will dedicate the temple. They are doing it three times and broadcast to all the stake centers in the temple district. 16 stakes, 8 each in Provo and Springville. Tickets are required. Tickets are given out by local bishops and require recommends. Kids that are baptized and not 12 yet don't require recommends.

I kind of want to repent for this comment. I attended last night and honestly was amazed at the experience. The church is utilizing top notch talent to produce these kind of events. I was really impressed and really enjoyed it.

I repent too. I was watching the baseball game on BYUTV and they showed the kids on the steps of the Marriott Center waiting for practice. Looked like they were having a good time.
