All of Utah gets out for the dedication not just district. Payson didn,t get rest of Utah out of church, will people use it to go to dedication or March Madneaa bye week? For Idaho Falls and MeridiN I wonder if they will be stTe wide or just for the district only, can go to multiple dedications if only recommend is required, or go to just one, for some an extra bye week.

A friend just announced that one of her paintings had been commissioned to go into the new Provo temple. Unfortunately, it will be her painting of Ruth and not the one that she painted where I modeled as Jesus.
I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

No, that's good. The whole world still has a chance to admire your beauty, not just a few patrons who happen to glance at a painting while walking in or out of the temple.

The whole world has a chance to see the pictures inside the temple too, if they will but repent and come unto him.

Right. They are hanging the picture of Ruth instead

Nope. Somebody took it with a cell phone.

Open house starts in January. They are putting the finishing touches on the grounds now. Beautiful temple.

I agree. It really does stand out from other temples.

Anyone involved in the nonsense that is the Provo temple cultural celebration tonight? My poor son has been to (supposed to attend but probably skipped a few of those) no less than 15 practice sessions for a two minute dance participating with the stake, and a song at the end joining with the entire youth. They have done dance practice exclusively at young men's for the past two and a half months, including 4-5 Saturday sessions. Today they met at the church at 7 am to drive to Marriott Center where they are there all day in final preparations for this dance and song. They already had a four hour session at the Marriott Center. They canceled Sunday young men's the last three weeks in a row to have combined YM-YW to practice the song. In order to get youth qualified, the ward had to send a picture front and back of what their costume. The ward was given a long list of instructions on what is and is not appropriate, including white shirts are not OK. Our ward's pictures were rejected at a rate of about 70% the first pass, 20% the second pass, with some needing three revisions to get approved. They keep emphasizing how the youth will remember this their entire lives. I think yeah, they probably will. They'll probably remember how hellish it was and how Nazi the leaders were.
