Serious Moment - I will share because it was forecast and came true, and I was awed by the completed circle. Still am.

Blessing: "The people you bring the gospel to, will be be grateful all the days of their lives."
Email 25 years after mission: "Elder Clack, we will be grateful to you all the days of our life's, for bringing us the Gospel."

Mine said I would serve a mission in Brazil. I served a mission in Brazil.

My dad, who came into the church later in life, has never had a patriarchal blessing. I told him he should go get one, but he feels embarrassed and asks, "What is the point now?"
Yeah, we had that too, but in the mission field. Mine is three paragraphs, but I never told anyone out there (except for one companion).

Mine says that I would attain to the Presidency of an internet message board. still waiting for that to happen. You just can't seek after these things, I guess.

My PB is me to a T.

If you knew my temperment, demeanor and the fact that I am an extremely emotional fella...it could have only been for me.

                  I cherish it greatly.

I also remember a debate about the lineage portion of patriarchal blessings. The gist of the argument was whether one was a literal descendant of the house of Ephraim or just adopted in and the debate had to do with the phrasing, "blood of Israel is rich in your veins" or something like unto that. Cracked me up because what does it really matter if you are a literal descendant or adopted? Aren't the promised blessings the same for both groups?

Interesting FYI I learned from a patriarch. Declaration of lineage is the only thing required in the blessing (in addition to the usual state authority and in Jesus Christ's name). It would be a perfectly acceptable blessing to open state what tribe the individual descends from (literal or adopted) and then close.

The SP also reviews random sampling of the blessings. It isn't stated but I think this is to watch for signs of senility since it is a lifetime calling.

Richard Bushman (Rough Stone Rolling) is a patriarch. He is currently non-functioning since he lives in CA and was ordained in New York.

Mine said I was blessed with the ability to recognize the truth. That's why I didn't second-guess my decision to leave the Church.

I thought you weren't supposed to discuss them. Boyd gave a good talk on that several years ago in the Priesthood session of GC. when I got mine got home and cousins up for the summer asked what did it say? Patriarchs or bishoops are not to interpret it. Though sp reads some.

If someone moves from the stake I think they are nonfunctioning but can be used in that stake. I heard he fasts before every blessing. I doubt Eldred G Smith does that. Because on his 100th birthday gave 2 patriarchal blessings.

Draining calling Patriarch is. There are some interesting stories. One is about people living to see the Second Coming. So and so' s pb says that. I know many that say that but have died.

There has been one going around the church were this guy was retarded because he cast satan out of heaven and satan wanted so badly to tempt him get even that God made him retarded so Satan Couldn't. Don't you have to understand a patriarchal blessing.

That aforementioned story another version. Someone in my Ward his brother is a temple worker down in the Salt Lake Valley, and a man never had use of his limbs was in the temple and in hospital all his life. Man in my ward brother talked to him had sweet spirit and said he had pb were he was told he escorted satan out of heaven. There are many of those types of stories that are great latter day legends.
