It's going to happen--it's just a matter of time. What are some things that could cause a great Mormon schism? (I'm talking about something that could cause 5% or more of the active members to leave the Church.)

I don't see a schism ever happening and here is why. In the days when there was actual schism, the biggest threat to the church was people believing the current leadership was in apostasy and forming their own church. Today the biggest threat to the church is secularism, no close second. So people who are bothered enough by this or that to leave will simply vote with their feet and not have a church after that. I don't see any chance of a schism.Comment
