Clack are you in Lancaster, PA today? I'm here in Sacrament meeting and a guy in a vest just referenced Higgs Boson particles in relation to our susceptibility to the spirit in the last days and doing genealogy and Temple work.

A youth speaker compared a lying to farts. Someone also talked about a new service initiative.

Is this a prevarication or lying with somebody sexually?
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Or maybe both. "Um, yeah, it was good for me, too."

I walked past the Primary today and they had the junior primary practicing "Praise to the Man" and it seemed rather odd to hear Sunbeams and the like intoning, "Earth must atone for the blood of that man." But, they sang it with such gusto that it sounded better than the combined priesthood's a cappella version that couldn't even wake the living.
"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

My 5yo was singing that after church today. While she mispronounced Jehovah it was pretty cute.

There's nothing quite as satisfying as a really big lie.

Hmm. Seems like a massive leap.

Today was Stake Conference and our SP sounded off on his view that members should wear their Sunday best all day to truly keep the sabbath day holy. We had a GA and his wife visit with us over Memorial Day weekend who said same thing.
Maybe I'm not as spiritual as these folks but my first thought was are there really people who dress up for church then go home and stay in Church clothes and quietly read scripture all day ?

I wear a guayabera to church, so I live this rule 7 days a week.

High council speaker today is a guy named O.J. He confirmed that he was named after the more famous O.J. I bet that's the sort of thing you Utah Mormons don't get to see.

Lucifer was foreordained to be Devil. Someone brought that up when we talked of foreordination. He didn,t have to be devil chose too. In Ward in Florida someone brought that up too. Satan had to be Devil. Interesting conversations when that is discussed.

Hopefully we get 50% credit at my house. At least they're still wearing pants.

During primary lesson on baptism, they had a panel of a male teacher and two female teachers where the children could pick a teacher and then read a prepared question that were randomly passed out. The third question was addressed to the male teacher, "Why can't women baptize people." Total deer in the headlights for this guy that normally just plays the piano in primary. After a solid 15 seconds, "I can't come up with a good reason. Sorry, but I don't have any idea why women can't perform baptisms." The sisters on the panel, shot him a look and simultaneously blurted out, "Because they don't have the priesthood!" He sort of rolled his eyes and added, "Well I assumed the real question was why women can't hold the priesthood and I don't have a good answer for that."

We then got a nice rendition of the "women get to have babies" philosophy.

There might be a more stringent vetting process moving forward.
