  • In Sacrament meeting today, they announced the annual ward boundary realignment announcement conference later tonight.

Last year at this time, they realigned and dissolved one of the wards in the stake. Tonight, they'll be realigning and creating a new ward. Zion expanding her stakes!

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Gotta make sure the ward's membership numbers match up to the AA's "ideal." Regardless if that places an unreasonable burden on the people sharing facilities and the members of that ward.

The bishop concluded his announcement with the comment, "no matter what happens tonight, I know that it will work out best for everyone."

Poor guy. I would hate to have to oversee a ward realignment.

My wife comes from a small southern Utah town with one ward, and they have had one ward forever. They also have a gorgeous pioneer era sandstone tabernacle. 15-20 years ago it was announced that they were going to split the ward and part of the town would end up joining with the ward from the neighboring small town. People went nuts. And on the morning of the Sunday where the split was going to be formally done at church, they announced that the whole thing had been called off.

They have a separate meeting for this? Just send an email with the map.

Email is too cold and impersonal a method to use to inform 250 people they will be required to travel 25 minutes to go to church, rather than attend at the building 6 minutes away from the farthest border of the ward.

It's 37 degrees in Houston right now and church is still on

                      • There was a hard freeze in Las Vegas last night. But the faithful dug deep and found the will to make it to church anyway.

Even had snow flurries at the house on Friday.
