one of the bishopric sidled up to me and released me right before RS today. 6 years is long enough for GD teacher. Sad but also happy because I was super burnt out. My lessons were on auto pilot and I was just going through the motions. Still getting lots of accolades for teaching, but the thoughts weren't even mine. Mostly Nancy Jensen's thoughts, or whomever else I copied from. In with a bang, out with a whimper.
When I was at the family reunion 2 weeks ago, I overheard my sister telling my cousin's husband that she served as RS president for 18 years straight. Straight! And after that she moved directly into Primary President for 8 years, then YW president for 8 years straight. Who cares if she experiments with the occasional long island iced tea now, she's put in her time. What a saint.Comment

I loved my time as a GD teacher. I do like it better not having a ward calling. By the time I am released/retired/kicked out, I will hopefully be able to slide back in as a choir director. By the way, in keeping with the thread, I learned that the mandatory retirement age is not soon enough for some. I sat in front of a guy who had last all control of his vibrato today.
