  • We only took FO envelopes to the shut-ins. We also administered the sacrament to those same shut ins. Seems inappropriate to hound folks for FO if they are already attending.

On a separate note, the first 10,000 year clock is going to be in west Texas and Jeff Bezos is one of the backers. I'll have to ask the guy who talked about it for 5-10 minutes how it is Gospel related.

        • Not today but....

Last Sunday I learned that the Q12 has an "advance team" that scouts out their entrance and exit strategies when they visit wards (mine in this case). I guess I should have known about that previously, but I didn't, so it was learned.

          • Probably the reason they force new buildings to be pretty much the same floor plan. Makes the getaway plan much easier to create.

I do the same thing but most likely for a different reason.

You have an advance team? You must be a welding engineer.

Yes, the advance family team. Just last week we scouted out the best parking and seats so we get out quickly only to see the cowboys get robbed by a bad call.

It's Texas, everyone backs into their parking spot. No joke.

He just asked every active member to pay with their thing so as not to over burden those that have the duty to collect. So now the deacons visit members that can't always make it or are totally inactive but who do pay fast offerings.
Our ward we were asked over the pulpit to not pay fast offerings with our tithing but to allow the young men to come around and collect. Then again I live in Utah, which makes it much easier to cover the 4 square blocks.

In Oregon only the trucks back in on a normal Sunday, but EVERYONE does at Stake Conference. It's a true hive mentality.

In Texas, everyone drives a truck.
