    • This Sunday I'm going to crack down on those who deviate from the standard structure of a testimony. There's also a kid who gets up every month and says she's going to "bury her testimony." It's about time for some correction and if my bishop isn't willing to do it then I am.

      • Our first counselor spoke in Sacrament Meeting yesterday. He spoke about the importance of silence, and incorporated all of the verses of Simon & Garfunkel’s Sounds of Silence into his talk. It was nicely done.

          Hello darkness, my old friend?
Would have been especially memorable had he used that line to begin the prayer.

          • About 6 months ago I got yanked out of the CTR-4 class into HP group. I continued sleeping with the secretary in the Primary and just scored a gig with the Sunbeams. My old class sits right in back of the Sunbeams. When we sat down for singing time Jake slid his chair up behind me and scratched my back for all of singing time. All of it. When we switched to go to sharing time in the gym, another kid from last year jumped up on my lap, put his head on my chest and said, "I love you." During sharing time, Katie (the red-headed whipper snapper) and I were pulling faces and sticking our tongues out at each other.

I learned, yet again, that Primary rocks.
            I intend to live forever.
            So far, so good.

I've been a primary teacher three times. By far my favorite calling. My wife has been in Primary for 22 straight years. She loves it the kids.

I have team taught CTR-7 with my wife for the past three years. It is awesome.

                • We learned last night that we will be paying tithing directly to the church from now on, and not through the ward/stake.

As in the nikuman family, or as in the entire membership of the church?

If the former, then I presume something led to that, which stinks.

If the latter, then that's pretty big news.

The Bish/SP is outsourcing man-hours to SLC?

Is that the new policy or did something happened that caused you to change your payment method? After a bishop grilled me about how frequently I pay tithing, I've been turn disinclined to give a check to the bishop.

The nikuman family. A rather inappropriate line of questioning related to finances and tithing took place during a temple recommend interview with SHW (it involved the SP) so the ability of the stake to know anything about my finances will be removed. Pellegrino, I didn't even know this was an option until a few months ago.

We've done it for a year now. Bishop didn't even bat an eye when we told we were doing it.

We still pay fast offerings locally, and we make a small monthly donation to the ward mission fund, so it doesn't really make our job any easier. Just a little peace of mind...
