A good EQ lesson isn't complete until someone comments about spending all your money on "hookers and blow." !"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

From a 80 year old doctor, during our WOW lesson 19.
"Not wearing seat belts is against the Word of Wisdom."
When someone responded, and said you could still get a temple recommend even if you didn't wear one, his response was, "If I was in charge, you wouldn't."
WILICT #2.
Long time ward members and good friends are getting a divorce. Totally unexpected, out of the blue. I had him pegged as the next Bishop. Been bugging me all afternoon. Do I reach out - Leave alone? Not at church the last two weeks....Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

Seriously - I'm not sure I want to be part of a church someone who thinks this way belongs to.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post"We need to teach people that the atonement can fix anything. And if we get a few suicides along the way, so be it."
If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

Maybe the saddest part about this quote is that I have a strong feeling that if you were to ask the utterer if the atonement also covered suicides, the answer would be a resounding "No."Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post"We need to teach people that the atonement can fix anything. It's nice to have it both ways.I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

No, the anti-Christ has to have charisma and seem like a good guy. Obama probably is the anti-Christ, Soros would just be the devil.Originally posted by Sleeping in EQ View PostOverheard in the clerks office:

Having Sacrament Meeting at 9 AM for an entire year is a real challenge because of how difficult it is to get up and make it to church on time (this from a single person so it's not about getting kids ready).
Makes me wonder what time these people get up and going every other day of the week.

Got another text today from someone in the ward who thinks my phone number belongs to missionaries. The person wanted me to pick up an investigator and give them a ride to Church. I texted back that it wouldn't be a problem and that I would do it. I always say yes to these requests. I should feel bad because the investigators probably got all dressed up and no one picked them up, but strangely I don't."The mind is not a boomerang.
