I've probably already indicated my underwear preferences in this thread, but cotton crew neck is my #1, go-to top. Like others, I sometimes wear scoop necks with t-shirts, but I have found that, even though it doesn't show in the front, it will make an appearance somewhere around the neckline, so the benefit is lessened.

I like the crew neck too, always the first to go in the laundry stack, but mesh bottoms aren't for me. As a 50 something I need something that will catch than last drop I missed. Mesh just lets the drop run down your leg. I need a little cotton.
