Seriously, I didn't. If they have narcotics in them, couldn't they become habit forming. Why aren't kids buying them and selling them for more money like they do Lori tab or oxycotten.

I'm pretty sure that the little blue pill you refer to doesn't have narcotics in it. The only pills Mpfunk has taken of late is a low-dose Lortab for a root canal. No Viagra.

I'm pretty sure that many users of Viagra would call it habit forming, however.

I've been taking little pink pills for three years now. They have worked like a charm so far!

My wife was using that too with different results.

It worked out for the best as we may never have had any more kids as her first pregnancy what pretty traumatic on her and I'm not sure she would have decided to go though it again by choice.

Yes, I do realize that some people really do end up being the .1 in the 99.9% effectiveness of chemical pregnancy interference.

Please note that I'm not including your wife in the observation I'm about to make. I don't know your personal circumstances and I certainly don't wish to offend.

Of the girls I know who got married a year out of high school, the vast majority were pregnant less than a year after getting married. Nearly all of them claimed to have been using oral contraceptives when they conceived and that something "just happened." Upon further conversation, though, it turns out that all but one of them used the pill incorrectly. Some missed multiple days of taking it. One thought that once it was in your system, you were sort of "good" for awhile and stopped taking it. (For the record, they all offered up this detailed history of their reproductive practices freely. I didn't grill them for it.)

While the .1 ineffectiveness of birth control exists, it's not THAT easy to get pregnant on the pill.

So all this advice to not get married early and to not be pressured into having kids....you realize it is the opposite side of the same coin, no? in essence, you are doing exactly the thing which you are condemning.

FTR, I never said wait to get married. Get married early and shag each other rotten. Just don't have kids until each of you has at least a bachelors or know yourself well enough to know you can handle having kids in school. Some people can do it. I had kids during the PhD; that's doable because my wife already had her masters. If she had had to study, wow!

But, I don't care if my kids get married "young." I just don't want grandkids until my kids have a reasonable chance of successfully completing an education that won't leave them destitute if their marriage ends (the cause being unimportant to earning potential).

I hear this all the time in Utah. It's ridiculous. And, as you said, in almost every case they are doing something incorrect.

I am on Lortab right now. I have had a swollen mouth for over a week now. I am also on anti-biotic. I go into the Dentist again tomorrow at 9:40 and I am telling him one way or another, end this thing.

I think better advice would be: analyze all your options and decide what's best for yourself.

You're way overstating the case of the importance of college graduation for future SAHM's to prepare in case of a marriage's premature ending. A college degree in most fields and a resume that says you've been a SAHM for the last 15 years is worth next to nothing.

I was married at 21. Had (well, SHW had) an unplanned pregnancy at 22. You know how that worked out. Had a second unplanned at 23. Both times it was reckless disregard for what happens when you skip a day or two of pills - the "aw, it'll be okay" deal. The other two were meticulously planned.

I love my kids and would not trade them for anything. But I do sometimes wish that I had waited a bit longer to both get married and have kids. Just being honest. Just like I'm honest and say that if we don't go through what we do with number 1, numbers 3 and 4 probably don't happen. And that number five won't happen.

Yes, I understood your original statement. Even after you restate it here, you are still telling your kids when to have kids. You are doing the same thing as everyone else.
