I wonder if he's actually tried asking Him that...given he's a prophet and all.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostHere is a link that quotes some of the talk:

Not vouching for the source, just one of the only things that came up on google.
EDIT: BTW, I am looking forward to the explanations of how he actually meant something other than what he said.

Seems like a bizarre rhetorical question to ask if you are indeed one who communicates regularly with the Almighty and claim to definitively understand his will. Especially given the fact that religion is tasked with answering similar rhetorical questions from non-believers, such as "why was my daughter born with birth defects, why would Heavenly Father do that to someone?"Originally posted by UtahDanI'm not sure what you are saying, that God thinks people are not actually born gay?

From BKP's talk
Does BKP think that homosexuality and homosexual acts are illegal or should be illegal? Seems that way. The gay marriage issue has nothing to do with "legalizing immorality."There are those today who not only tolerate but advocate voting to change laws that would legalize immorality, as if a vote would somehow alter the designs of God's laws and nature. To legalize that which is basically wrong or evil will not prevent the pain and penalties that will follow as surely as night follows day.
"Immorality" as BKP defines it is already completely legal. It's only places like Iran that make homosexuality illegal.
I'm completely confused by this BKP talk. There is no logic here whatsoever.

I got the distinct impression that he said being gay was morally wrong. Isn't that one of the premises for his conclusion that god wouldnt make anyone intrinsically gay?Originally posted by Maximus View PostI love how the site says he said being gay is morally wrong while he actually was talking about how gay marriage is wrong.Te Occidere Possunt Sed Te Edere Non Possunt Nefas Est.

As I read it, I thought he meant that legalizing gay marriage would be legalizing immorality, meaning gay marriage is immoral.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostFrom BKP's talk

I'm confused. So gay sex is OK (because it's legal), but gay marriage is immoral and shouldn't be legalized?Originally posted by Maximus View PostAs I read it, I thought he meant that legalizing gay marriage would be legalizing immorality, meaning gay marriage is immoral.
That's what he was saying? This will be big news.

Talks like this make me embarrassed to be a member of the church.

Not to mention that Prop 8 was about making something that was already legal illegal. Not a great performance by BKP, it seems.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostFrom BKP's talk
