I assumed everybody does this. My daughter doesn't like the yolk, so I generally get my whole egg with the yolk, plus her yolk only on my pancake - yum!

I'd like to add my testimony to the many given here as to the awesome nature of a fried egg with runny yolk and buttered toast to mop up the yolk with. Nothings better.
Eggs are just good all the way around.

Boiled - just a little salt and pepper. Or deviled. Or diced up for an egg salad sandwich on toast to take breakfast on the go.
Poached - nearly as good as fried, as long as you keep the yolk soft.
Omelets are awesome with a little swiss cheese, ham, and onion. Or sausage and cheddar.
And quiche is OK too, P-diddy.
No need to add the "how to" for me...I love them about anyway they come. Man...just had breakfast and I'm wishing I'd read this first!

This thread is making me
Although I did not know that flipping with a spatula is a no-no. Does everybody else flip the egg without utensils like JL or is there another way? I need to know b/c I always seem to break the yolk.

I was all set to go the toast route but called an audible at the last second. Went with 3 huevos, chorizo, potatoes, and chili peppers instead.

For scrambled, I'll just dump a bunch of random shit in there - cheese, bbq sauce, worchestershire, ham, turkey, bacon, onions, sour cream, - whatever I have on hand.

I LOVE to cook my eggs after cooking bacon. Leave the bacon grease to cook the eggs in. English Muffins with a slice of cheese on bottom so not to ruin my runny yolk.. Yummy..
Think I will head to the store now and grab a carton of eggs. I actually have a egg cooker here at work. I can make sunny side up, soft boiled eggs and even an omelette if I want..

I love poached. Poach them up, heat up some prosciutto ham and serve together with an English muffin, you have a tasty mcmuffin.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostNo one here gets poached eggs? Its the best way to eat them

Not sure about putting butter "on" eggs but lots of people use butter to grease their pan. I doubt anyone actually slices off some butter to top their eggs once they are cooked.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostTrick to cook the white without having to flip the egg. Add a tablespoon of water on top of the egg and cover while cooking (this obviously works in a small frying pan, not a griddle).
Who puts butter on eggs?
i don't like the taste of oil with eggs unless the oil happened to be from freshly cooked bacon, so I will line my pan with some butter, definitely and it tastes great. I have a dedicated pan for eggs which doesn't require any coating but I still use some butter because it tastes good.
im almost ready to make brek which will be eggs, of course.

EDIT: I agree with PAC and DDD. I flip it for 5 seconds just to cook the top side so the white is not runny..Last edited by dabrockster; 08-11-2014, 06:51 AM.

I have been experimenting with sous vide eggs. I haven't quite gotten it right, but am getting close, even though there is tons of advice on how to sous vide an egg out there. The eggs come out soft boiled and the yolks are thick and custardy. Delish!
