I've yet to eat there, but keep telling myself that I should try it each time I pass by. I'll give it a go on your recommendation.Originally posted by Shaka View PostMy favorite little spot s Tio's in Murray. I've had many enjoyable meals there. For those that would like to try it's west off the 5300 South I-15 exit a few blocks. It shares a parking lot with a Smiths."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Keep in mind that I'm not claiming to be a CUF foodie. I've been going to Tio's since the founder emigrated from Mexico and landed in my ward. The current owners (who I believe are relatives) do a fine job.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostI've yet to eat there, but keep telling myself that I should try it each time I pass by. Definitely return and report. Everyone I've taken there has loved it.

Nor am I a foodie. I'm probably whatever the opposite of a foodie would be. Anything in particular you would suggest?Originally posted by Shaka View PostKeep in mind that I'm not claiming to be a CUF foodie. I grabbed a chimichanga from a Mexican place called El Mexiquense (basically on the corner of State St and AF Main). It was surprisingly tasty. Their rice and beans are actually pretty decent, and the prices aren't bad. I'm not sure if I'd make a special trip for it, but if you're in the area, it's better than a fair many of the fast food Mexican options nearby. Yes! I live half a block from there and that food is great and the place stays open all night (but NEVER on Sunday) which is convenient.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostMolcasalsa which is now called Hectors is my to go when I want Mexican food in Utah.
The other place that is more upscale and kicks Red Iguana's butt is Frida Bistro. They make this blue corn calamari appetizer that is like crack for me.

Your assessment of Lonestar exactly correct. Enough big ass trucks in that parking lot and it's like LA rush hour traffic on the 5. The place is really ill-designed to handle the amount of business it gets. It's in an old Nielsen's Custard stand. The inside is likewise crammed, though there's quite a bit of uncovered outdoor seating.Originally posted by HBCoug View PostYep, Lonestar Taqueria is up in Ft. Union. Really good food, terrible parking.
All this said, their guacamole alone is practically worth the trip. Their chile verde and tamales are amazing. IMO, the food at Lonestar is better than Red Iguana.
On a weekend night, though, the drive through is the only way to go."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge

I work very near there. It is cramped but good. Skiers often pack the place. I'm allowed one 'bad' lunch a week and often it's Lonestar (self-restriction ).Originally posted by Mrs. Funk View PostYour assessment of Lonestar exactly correct.
