reflections at the sunset of my 5th prestige:

with few exceptions (perhaps the acr), you get all the guns/equipment you need to be a dominant player before level 20. some of my most used classes over my 12 days of exposure to mw2:

runner class

ump45, either silenced or w/holographic
handgun with tactical knife or spas 12 w/grip
marathon pro
lightweight pro
commando pro

commando frustrates me, but i play with this class a lot. great for objective games and large maps.

sniper class
m21, intervention, or barrett. usually with a thermal, sometimes with fmj.
aa-12 if you use scavenger, spas 12 or akimbo g18's if you don't
claymores
scavenger or sleight of hand pro
stopping power pro
commando or steady aim pro

my most used class. a good sniper with good spots who can watch their six i unbeatable, especially with a thermal. there are so many tactical advantages to playing like this.

noob tube
any assault rifle with a grenade launcher
launcher, i prefer the aths4 or whatever it is
semtex or claymores
scavenger pro
danger close pro
commando pro

this class is exclusively what i use on headquarters pro and a lot of demolition. multi kills are cool.

and finally the cheater class:
tar 21, silencer and heartbeat (use bling)
spas 12, grip and fmj
claymore
scavenger pro
cold blooded pro
ninja pro

this is a great killstreak class. i've gotten several nukes with this class.

camleish, since you are probably the board's premiere sniper, can you talk a bit more about the different sniper rifles? I like the m21, because it doesn't kick all over the place, and you can place more shots quickly, if you miss the first one. But most people choose the barrett and intervention. Why is that?

Also, have you become a good quick scoper? I can never seem to get that to work.

I'm not that good at sniping, but I started out using the intervention because it's the most powerful and ended up switching to the barrett because it's not bolt action and can take shots much quicker with little loss in firepower.

Just go buy an arcade version and swap HDs. You know having a new one is worth the extra $100, especially once you factor in the downtime.
