If you were hosting the game, you could hit the 'standby' button on your router and it would freeze the other team while your team would stay mobile, allowing to get some cheap kills, get control of the map, steal a bomb, etc. Some boards were impossible to regain control if a team was able to gain weapon control. Cheaters like Phat, Surfah and this Hawaiian dude were kings of the standbying and superjumping.

People that would reset their modems during gameplay. People would build push button kits for this and what it would do is cause everyone on the screen to freeze or time out meanwhile the standbyer is running around slaying everyone. Your screen would refresh and you'd be dead. It got to be ridiculous along with some of the other glitches and mods in the game towards the end.Originally posted by nikuman View PostI never did halo 2 - only halo 3. What was a standbyer?
But Halo 2 was a great game. I wasted many hours of college playing that game."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Ha! I never once did it. I rarely had host anyway to even try something like that.Originally posted by fusnik View PostIf you were hosting the game, you could hit the 'standby' button on your router and it would freeze the other team while your team would stay mobile, allowing to get some cheap kills, get control of the map, steal a bomb, etc. Some boards were impossible to regain control if a team was able to gain weapon control. Ah. Like the asses who have lag switches on MW2 (ran into a few the other day) or who have heavily modded somehow (we had a game like that last night where one of our guys had somehow given himself the ability to jump to second story windows; we quit and found a team where people didn't cheat).Originally posted by Surfah View PostPeople that would reset their modems during gameplay. I haven't seen it in MW2, but in COD4 I saw people with modded controllers. It would let them use a single-fire rifle (the G3) as a fully automatic gun. That was a sweet gun and super accurate, but you could only fire it as fast as you could pull the trigger. The mod made it unbeatable.Originally posted by nikuman View PostAh. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Lara "Flyn" Boyle, seems to be getting a lot of hype today. Nice to see the xbox guys were scared and asked him to sign up to stack their team. She may be good at MW2, but when it comes to smack homegirl needs some work.

A guy last night told us he bought a turbo controller. That makes single fire weapons fully automatic.Originally posted by falafel View PostI haven't seen it in MW2, but in COD4 I saw people with modded controllers. Last night Nik, 8BR and I got into Derail and something was going on that wasn't right. Every 2-3 seconds you would get involuntarily move in a direction that you didn't want to go. We could tell something was fishy and backed out immediately. If we wouldn't have, the other team would have slaughtered us.

That was precisely the game I was talking about - and it wasn't the other team, it was our own. Did you hear the guy who yelled at everybody to follow him? He ran straight to the entrance of the center building, except instead of going up the stairs he jumped straight into the second floor window from the grounds. I have all sorts of neat double jumps and things that I can do, but that one was a new one.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostLast night Nik, 8BR and I got into Derail and something was going on that wasn't right. Missed it. I was too busy figuring out why I was moving left, when my analog stick was clearly pointed forward.

Auditor alert: Calling in 3 chopper gunners would require 33 kills. So you're saying with 3 Pavelows and 3 chopper gunners you amassed 7 kills? Seems fishy, especially on Groundwar.Originally posted by FlynHawaiian30 View PostYou obviously are not very good at this game because that gun is my GO TO. Just last night I managed to go 40-3, granted it was in big team, but none the less, 40-3 with the AUG HBAR and called in 3 chopper gunners.
Killstreaks: Harrier Strike, Pavelow, Chopper Gunner. ( You might need to modify this down to your level of UAV, Care Package, Predator Missle)
I'm sure there will be a wuap anti-air joke here, but one should never get less than 3 kills with a chopper gunner, and preferably 7-12, each.
