Last week we found out that there was a Detectorists movie special released in 2023. It takes place 5 years after season 3. About an hour and 20 minutes long.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
Sign up for acorn and the first week is free. Binge the six episodes and cancel before your week is up. That is what I did.
For fans of the series it's worth it. There's still much of the same charm, even if the plot is a little lackluster. There are a couple of genuine LOL moments. And it kind of ends with the possibility of a sequel
Alas, you will need to get Acorn again. Looks like the series isn't on Amazon anymore."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Karen Pirie on Britbox is a detective show about the reopening of a Scottish murder case decades after the fact. It's a three-episode mini-series that is a bit of a slow burn but ramps up as it progresses. Worth checking out if you enjoy cop shows from the UK.

That reminds me of an obituary I saw recently, shared by someone on fb (I think it was, perhaps, their grandpa?). It was basically like "he was a loving man who was very private and didn't like large groups, but he loved British crime shows. He is survived by . . . " It wasn't quite that abrupt of a transition, but it was close, and it made me chuckle and wonder if this was a lifelong obsession or something he got into as he aged and found himself alone and bored.Originally posted by Shaka View PostKaren Pirie on Britbox is a detective show about the reopening of a Scottish murder case decades after the fact. There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

This could also go in the Apple streaming thread as Ludwig, a BBC series, is on Britbox which can be linked through Prime or, I believe, Apple. Anyway, it's not about the Ute's former OC but instead is a great crime series about a reclusive puzzle nerd who gets drawn into impersonating his twin brother, a British Deputy Chief Inspector who has mysteriously disappeared. If you have Prime, you can watch the first episode free and decide if it's for you. Clever and often witty dialogue makes the series a pleasure. We enjoyed it as much as any series we've watched recently.
