I literally quite before it had even gone 10 minutes. The first wave of nausea hit me when she started talking off-camera as the rug where they were going to film the interview was being adjusted. Then they sat down in thechairs and smiled at each other and started holding hands and I had to dash to the toilet because I thought I was gonna be sick. I was out after that.Originally posted by Katy Lied View Post

Just watched “The Courier” with Benedict Cumberbatch. Based on the true story of Greville Wynne who smuggled evidence of Soviet missiles in Cuba out of Russia. I thought Cumberbatch did a good job and if he really lost all that weight for the role then my hat is off to him - that is some dedication.

Also, the latest episode of Geand Tour has been released. This one focuses on the oddities of French cars."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

I watched this one the other night. I haven't read the book, so I figured I wouldn't be bothered by what it was supposed to be. But I still didn't like it very much.Originally posted by Shaka View PostWithout Remorse is an abomination. The novel was one of Clancy's best books and had a very compelling storyline that would have translated magnificently to film. The Amazon version runs with a storyline that doesn't resemble the book other than it is about revenge. I watched "33 & Beyond: The Royal Art of Freemasonry" last night. At the beginning it was pretty interesting stuff: especially the first three degrees after which you are a Master Mason. I found the similarities to the temple ceremony, especially the clothing: (aprons, caps), etc. , "Holiness to the Lord" on the Masonic Royal Arch, etc. to be very interesting. By the time they got to the Scottish Rite and the later degrees I was pretty bored with it. If you're curious about Masonry then I would recommend it but if you have only a mild passing interest then it's probably not worth watching.Last edited by BigFatMeanie; 01-09-2022, 10:05 AM.

OK, I'll admit it. The missus and I have been watching (and enjoying!) Reacher. I've read one Jack Reacher novel (it was all right, but not a masterpiece) and saw the movie with a midget playing the title role. So I wasn't sure about the series, but Mrs. PAC and I were looking for a new series and Amazon recommended Reacher to me, and Miss Scarlett and the Duke to my wife. We've been watching both and, surprisingly, she finds Reacher slightly more entertaining.
If nothing else, the actor (Alan Ritchson) playing the title character fits the book description much, much more closely than did Tom Cruise (whom I still liked). It has lots of laughs, many of which are intended. I'm uncertain if Ritchson is a good actor, but since the character speaks in clipped, monotone sentence fragments and scowls a lot, it doesn't much matter. A guilty pleasure.

Well you convinced me, despite this heavily reluctant endorsement.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostOK, I'll admit it. The missus and I have been watching (and enjoying!) Reacher. Ooh, I've been waiting for the Reacher series to come out. I'll definitely watch it.
And I like Miss Scarlett and The Duke a lot as well - I watched the whole first season. The final episode of the first season of Miss Scarlett definitely has some unexpected twists and turns. The second season of Miss Scarlett is planned but not out yet.

I confess I liked it more than my qualified review would suggest. In the first ten minutes, you'll meet the major characters and get a sense of the tone and pacing. If it draws you in, as it did us, you won't be disappointed. If it doesn't, move on, There's always Miss Scarlett and the Duke, a good Victorian-era series about a female private detective and her male counterpart at Scotland Yard.Originally posted by Commando View Post
