I didn't know they had any Utah connection. That Christmas number is the only work of theirs I have heard. I just thought it was fun, clever well-done and Christmas-y .

Half of the group went to Highland. Do you not read the alumni magazine?

        Liar liar pants on fire.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Steve and Al are both in my Stake. Steve's wife is also a very good violinist.

Steve's parents used to live in our current ward. When they left to serve in the St. George temple, Steve and his family moved in for 3 years, but have since moved to the south end of the valley. I still see him from time to time.

Jon was good friends with my wife's older brother. He apparently spent quite a bit of time on my in-laws piano (which we now have in our house).

                • For comic relief, there's something about Dean Martin's drunken version of "Rudolph" that cracks me up.

Maybe it's the Why? German all of a sudden, or the "Rudy the Red Beaked Reindeer" line.

I learned since I posted all this last year that Jon Schmidt is the youngest brother of a girl I went to school with from elementary through high school. She died young, but her entire family (German immigrants) was musical. And I didn't even know these guys were LDS. Small world!

Wasn't assuming that they were LDS the default at that high school back then?

I just didn't know who The Piano Guys were until last year. I didn't know they were LDS, let alone that one of them is the brother of my childhood friend. I guess the group's existence had not penetrated the Southern California LDS community.
