I don't like how they just sprung this on us. I am not prepared to part with $50 at any given moment. Having the album Saturday morning will be pretty nice though! I'll have to remember to pack my laptop on this weekend's excursion."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Newspaper + WAV purchased!
Damn I'd love to know which songs made the album. I feel like The Present Tense, Give Up the Ghost and Lotus Flower are guarantees. I would also wager to guess that based on the whole "newspaper" thing The Daily Mail also made the the record. But outside of the that everything else is a wildcard.Last edited by MarkGrace; 02-14-2011, 09:27 AM.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

So there's a tracklisting floating around that looks like this:
The King of Limbs
Antipodes
The Daily Mail
Froze Up
CNTRL
Presentense
Give Up Ghost
Birds O' Prey
The Bells of Home
U Follow Me Round
Burn the Witch
Most of these songs make a lot of sense. The Daily Mail, Presentense, and Give Up Ghost were all premiered acoustically by Thom under those titles. I Froze Up and Follow Me Around were OKC and Kid A holdovers, and the band mentioned that they had been working on these again (Thom also played solo renditions at concerts over the last couple years). CNTRL would probably be the final title of the unamed song Thom premiered and fans were calling "Let Me Take Control," and Birds O' Prey obviously comes from the chorus of the song fans were calling "Wake/Ring Me." Burn the Witch has been talked about the band for years, and they attempted to finish it during the In Rainbows sessions to no avail -- makes sense that they would pick it back up for this album since they've all thought it had great potential.
The Kings of Limbs, Antipodes, and The Bells of Home seem completely unknown, but they could be alternate titles for stuff that was being worked on by another name.
Who knows. Someone else has a screenshot of an ordered download where it says the album is 8 tracks. Maybe the list above is just a hoax.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

By the way, can i just say that this is by far my favorite radiohead cover art?

Might be my favorite radiohead LP title, too... (although I love The Bends and OK Computer as titles...)"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Neither did I, but I didn't purchase the download thing. Someone posted a link to this: http://thekingoflimbs.jp/sites/en/Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI received no listing of tracks when I purchased my download.
That's now where I ordered it from, and the prices on the right don't match what I saw. Probably a fake, though I don't know who has the time to do something like that. If it is 8 tracks (and for some reason I've just had this feeling that it would be their first LP under 10), hopefully there's some longer songs in there. These Are My Twisted Words is one of the longest songs they've ever done, and I'd love to see more stuff in the 5-6 minute range. Would be a lot like some of those classic Talking Heads albums in terms of running time and track length.
Follow Me Around was definitely being worked on for this album, so either they just did a slight rename or whomever cooked up this fake tracklist changed the name up a bit to make it more believable. Are they re-doing Follow Me Around and releasing it as LP version? Very similarly sounding track titles.
When they went into the studio to start rehearsing this album, Ed said in an interview they were once again working on Follow Me Around. I was hoping they'd drop the "did you lie to us, Tony" line, so it doesn't seem timely now, but when Thom brought it out again at Latitude that line was still in there.

On the Atoms for Peace tour there was a night in Oakland where after the encore and all the house lights were on, fans stayed there cheering and wouldn't leave. Thom brought them back out and they did an impromptu jam to Follow Me Around, which I think shows he was still thinking about or working on a full band arrangement for the song.

I really like that song, and think there's a great version to be hand somewhere between what was seen on Meeting People Is Easy and what AFP did above. I love the band jam toward the end and Jonny's guitar bit from MPIE, but I liked how AFP started that jam/groove earlier in the song. If it indeed made the album, I'm stoked to see how it finally turned out with the sound of the rest of the album. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I think it's pretty cool, too. I love the artwork for the new DAS banner, and if you look at the album cover you can see those trees in the background with the ghoulish figures sort of emerging from there.Originally posted by Commando View PostBy the way, can i just say that this is by far my favorite radiohead cover art?

I can't stop thinking about HTTT with this title. Maybe it's just because There There's alternate title was The Boney King of Nowhere.Might be my favorite radiohead LP title, too... (although I love The Bends and OK Computer as titles...)So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

More good news. Announced today that Jonny is doing another score. That means a Radiohead album and possibly two Jonny works in the same year (assuming that this score will be out during the year, since Norwegian Wood is already set to release in March). We just need a Thom/Atoms for Peace outing and this would be one hell of a year.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
