  • Jar Jar would have been sweet speaking an alien language like the aliens did in the original trilogy or like, you know Chewbacca, and without any pratfalls. No idea why the urge to kid it up.

Technically every character in the whole series is an alien so English counts as an alien language.

It's a little known fact that the torture scene in Empire Strikes Back was actually a recording of Harrison Ford's reaction after first seeing Lucas's initial script.

        • I thought this was a cool photo. Apparently the guy that played R2D2 was Mormon and this is a pic of when they all visited the London branch during filming in 1976.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

          • Lol, you think he's Mormon and got the cast to go to Sacrament meeting? Who told you that?

I wonder if that is the same chapel where Bono was taking the discussions?

Lol, Kenny Baker dragged everyone to church, but left out CP3-0.

That 1976 picture also features Mark Hamil post-accident. And Ford has his Indiana Jones haircut. If I had to guess, the photo is from 1980 at some press event or premiere for The Empire Strikes Back.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Who knew that Darth Vader, the Dark Lord, doesn't know how to properly tie a tie? Certainly makes me less scared of him.

I think he meant they should have invited Chris Paul. But, CMBF, Chris Paul wasn't born yet and the church didn't like black people back then so it could have been pretty awkward.

Or maybe where Steve Martin was baptized.

                            • I've seen that pic numerous times and can never get over how short Leia is. I looked it up- 5'1. I also learned that Eddie Fisher was her dad (I already knew her mom was Debbie Reynolds). Not a bad mother-daughter actress combo, though not as impressive as Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis. Or for the now-allowed-to-marrry crowd Judy Garland and Liza Minelli

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
