In case you haven't noticed, we have been bombarded with spam lately. I turned on a new spam filtering option that does a better job of flagging stuff, but it tends to flag things that aren't spam. AI only gets you so far, eh?

      • I never expected this series to take the turn that it has. I'm but a padawan compared to Commando and FS.

Can't we just retcon the stupid sequels already? I hate that Kylo Ren limits the storyline of Luke. Obvioispy Grogu needs to be not present at the Jedi school because it would be shame if the shallow, crybaby emo Kylo killed him. And i still hate all this attachment talk in regards to the Jedi from Luke. I genuienly want Grogu to be a Jedi but his absence from the terrible sequels has to be accounted for somehow. I guess having him as Din's enforcer on Mandelore would be cool though.

The Cad Bane appearance was fun. I'm curious how the next episode will play out. Will there be an epic scene where Grogu and Luke show up to save the day? Will it just be a tense buildup with a huge cliff hanger than has implications for the next season of the Mandalorian and Ahsoka series? I can't imagine the Pykes will be defeated and kicked of world in a single episode.

I refuse to believe Grogu joins the dark side with Kylo. All of this leading Luke to the eventual conclusion that the way of the Jedi is flawed, which is why he does not want to train Rey when she eventually comes calling. I was kind of hoping that Disney would reboot and re-write episodes 7, 8, and 9 but I am guessing they won't.

oh and my spoiler was Cad Motherfucking Bane!!!!!!
Kylo really doesn't destroy the Jedi temple. He has a long secret flirtation with Snoke who is actually responsible for that and Kylo obviously feels responsible. He's certainly a lot less culpable than Anakin was for the destruction of the Jedi Order, which makes his redemption a little more feasible, patricide not withstanding. He does end up killing one of Luke's other students in a dual, but he's a little more complicated than the brief recounting we got in the sequels.

I think we can bet on an hour+ episode with an epic cliffhanger. I'll be mad if Cad Bane dies, too.

            • So, I said the start of the Book of Boba Fett that it was boring. It really was boring. I like though where they are potentially going with this. I think it would be interesting if they actually question the Jedi way through this series and the Mandolorian.

Orthodox vs. Nonorthodox practices/thinking is one of the major themes of Star Wars in general-- especially the sequels, but also comes back in the Mandalorian and will continue. I'm seeing that Din will come to realize that he's been held back by extremists who are not as pure as they are purporting. I mean... the Armorer is sporting a horned helmet, for Pete's sake (!). Boba, who has never considered himself a Mandalorian at all, other than by heritage, may well end up as the leader of all of mandalore

                  I think this is likely.

                  • OK, that was pretty spectacular. I wonder how much they spent on that episode.

                      • The relationship between Mando and Grogu, although not as silly, reminds me of the relationship between BJ McKay and his best friend Bear.

                        • That was a good episode. I'm kind of sad about Grogu's choice though to be honest. But who knows what Mandalorian season 3 has in store.

Yeah, but by not showing what went down... we might be set up for a twist. Was that a test, Master Luke- Jedi Master who has a shit ton of attachments? Maybe he did pick the lightsaber and that's how Luke knows he's overcome the draw of attachment so thought it would be ok to join his dad for a spell? Maybe not, but I don't think we've seen the last of Luke Skywalker...

Agreed. I think Luke's story will last for at least three more crappy sequels, including one where he doesn't even appear until the last scene, one where he is dead, and one where he hides on a rock avoiding everyone for most of the movie except for a brief scene where he is still hiding on a rock avoiding everyone but you don't realize it until the end.

The Last Jedi is the best SW movie and it's not even close. Come at me.
