          Smigel's the real deal. Conan's funny, but Smigel's writing put his show over the top. That stoic Spock flipping off the line cracks me up every time.

              I don't think he's terrible at all. I don't know if he is on Ewan McGregor or Natalie Portman's level, but certainly not horrible. His other work doesn't show it, either. Everyone was stoked when he was cast since Life as a House was sort of an edgy challenging movie that showed some chops for a young kid. Those lines Lucas made him say were soo awful. "FROM MY POINT OF VIEW THE JEDI ARE EVIL" "I hate sand. It's itchy and blah blah blah and It gets everywhere." Natalie Portman- another example. Won Best Actress for Black Swan. Smash cut to her oscar worthy dialogue with Anakin. "Hold me like you did that one time. By the lake. On Naboo." (So bad it got hoots and laughter in the theater upon its first showing.) Suddenly they look like an awkward kirk cameron movie or something. That's where Lucas is supposed to say, "CUT! Hey let's figure out a line that doesn't sound like dog shit right there..." But I digress...

                      LOL. Forgot about that effing gem. I wish they had a writers' meeting. In fairness, nobody believed in Lucas enough to fund the first one, so he could pretty much tell everyone to esad at his discretion, but he sure didn't do himself any favors.

                            I love when Star Wars fans complain about characters and dialogue they don't think are sufficiently serious. Yes. Sorry your movie set in the distant past about outer space magic swords and space ships was unnecessarily silly.
