What's the worst concert experience you've had?

This kid was the grandson of a famous GA, star athlete, drafted out of high school, had a minor league career, married in the Temple, divorced, became a drug addict/roider, got in major financial trouble, and ended up killing himself.

I should have seen it coming.

That never stops me. I suspect I have told all of my stories 5-6 times.

Some stories are timeless.

I remember hearing about Loggins falling off the stage. I heard three coeds were impregnated as a result of it.

All this Cure hate breaks my cold, black heart. I love all things Cure and Robert Smith. I even read Never Enough, which is like 350 pages of fine print about your favorite band from Sussex...

Haven't read the book and don't really have a desire to do so, but I'm with you about love of The Cure. One of my all-time favorite bands, though I prefer their early work ('77? - '84) more than any other.

What a bunch of saps. I don't expect you to think otherwise because you stumbled across this band when that is what they were putting out.

Seventeen Seconds, Pornography, Japanese Whispers.....that is when the Cure was at its best. Disintegration's biggest selling point was that every song seemed to last 8 minutes. Lovesong....oh, brother.

I feel pretty much the same as you, though I don't have the hate for Disintegration and stuff after that. In fact, I don't own any of their CDs after Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me.

When I was living in DC my roommates talked me into driving down to Norfolk with them to see Jack Johnson. I didn't really know who he was and thought a road trip might be fun. It wasn't and the show was awful. The cherry on top was some girl named Alana Davis opening up for him. I hope nobody remembers this jem:

Every song she did had some back story that needed to be told. And most of it was about some boy not living up to "his potential."

Also, sometime in the early 90s I went to an Aerosmith concert with Jackyll opening up for them. Although Jackyll was pretty bad they did have a song featuring a chainsaw and he cut up a stool on stage. Aerosmith played like 3 encores. I thought that show would never end.

Having to endure Slipknot in between Lemmy and Metallica at Rock in Rio 2011 was almost unbearable. I don't believe there's a devil, but those guys and seeing the crowd fights break out, etc., almost made me believe otherwise.

Bad concerts? I can think of a few.

I took my girlfriend (now wife) to a Kenny Loggins concert at BYU when we were students. Believe it or not, it was in the MC. When it was time for the main event, they turned down the lights and the crowd started cheering wildly waiting for the lights to come on and the music to begin. Several minutes later the lights came on and somebody came out and said that Mr. Loggins fell off the stage (due to the darkness) and had broken his leg. Concert cancelled.

Also attended a Dan Fogelberg concert at the MC. When the show started he came out and announced that he didn't bring his band because he enjoyed playing solo sometimes. He mocked Brigham Young during the act and he just wasn't that good solo. Rip-off.

It must have been disappointing to not get to hear Mr. Loggins sing "House at Pooh Corner".

Warrant and Firehouse on the Cherry Pie tour. A girflfriend took me to it. Firehouse was OK, but Warrant positively stunk. Warrant was booed so loudly that they abandoned the stage half way into the set.
