What's the worst concert experience you've had?

With all the bragging going on in the other thread, let's counter that with bad experiences. I was thinking in terms of a band performing poorly or being disappointing, and not necessarily, "Oh, my car broke down, blah blah blah." Obviously, bands of some renown.

My worst experience was seeing <gulp> Spin Doctors in high school. They headlined and sucked at the art of the live performance. I thought they would solicit attendee participation with their lovely "4:30" song, but that didn't happen. Fortunately, the second band on the bill, Soul Asylum, was much more experienced at performing live and they gave a good show.

I don't have a huge resume of concerts, but that's been the one really disappointing one I've had.
I have nothing else to say at this time.

Of Montreal. Terrible show. They were late getting on stage. They had a 45 minute sound check with the most annoying sound engineer ever. It was an outdoor show and freezing cold. It was nearly 10 pm when they finally came out Kevin Barnes was in a leotard and tutu. And the sound still sucked after that tedious sound check! I left after the third song severely disappointed.

Neil Youngs "Everybody's Rockin'" tour in Seattle. He plays the first half of the concert solo doing his old standards and everybody is loving it. The second half he comes out with a band and plays this rockabilly crap from the album. People just sat there with this WTF look on their faces and a lot started to leave. Neil did a bad thing when he put this album out.

Try listening to an almost 12 minute salsa jam of that song.

Nothing ruins a show IMO more than when artists go on political diatribes. STFU and sing. Don't tell me that President Bush is a murderer or that eating meat is murder.

Is that why DDD's "Conga" lasted 12 minutes?

This isn't my experience, but parents once saw Rod Stewart at the Marriott Center. Must have been the early 80s. Anyone here see that show?

Anyway, Rod was apparently plastered during the show and couldn't remember the words. He ended up singing off of 3x5 cards.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
