With all the bragging going on in the other thread, let's counter that with bad experiences. I was thinking in terms of a band performing poorly or being disappointing, and not necessarily, "Oh, my car broke down, blah blah blah." Obviously, bands of some renown.
My worst experience was seeing <gulp> Spin Doctors in high school. They headlined and sucked at the art of the live performance. I thought they would solicit attendee participation with their lovely "4:30" song, but that didn't happen. Fortunately, the second band on the bill, Soul Asylum, was much more experienced at performing live and they gave a good show.
I don't have a huge resume of concerts, but that's been the one really disappointing one I've had.
