I'm pretty sure that, along with Tyrion Lannister, Arya is the hero of the series so far? Then again it wouldn't surprise me if she was suddenly and inexplicably snuffed.

Jeez I hope not. She's a cool girl. I can't wait to see where they go with this in the show and see what, if any, interaction she and Tywin have with each other in the books.Originally posted by Commando View PostI'm pretty sure that, along with Tyrion Lannister, Arya is the hero of the series so far? Yes. That would be hard to take.Originally posted by Commando View PostI'm pretty sure that, along with Tyrion Lannister, Arya is the hero of the series so far? Then again it wouldn't surprise me if she was suddenly and inexplicably snuffed.
Question for those of you who have read the books: How is it that the wall keeps the Wildlings in the north? Seems like even a crude boat or canoe could get around it no problem."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

She has no interaction with Tywin in the books. She was the cup bearer of Roose Bolton at Harrenhall in the books. Future events require some character development of Roose but I like this departure from the book.Originally posted by OrangeUte View PostJeez I hope not. She's a cool girl. The books note that the seas are particularly rough in the north but that wildlings attempt to go around from time to time. There are castles on the wall positioned on the coast (Eastwatch is one I think) There is an event in the books that supports the difficulty the wildlings have in going around the wall by sea. I am not sure if it will make the series though.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostYes. That would be hard to take.

One of the Lords of the North. He is the Lord that told Rob he would send his bastard to retake Winterfell. In the books the Boltons have an expanded role in the future, but given the way that Theon and Winterfell have been told thus far in the series, I am beginning to wonder if they are going to leave the Boltons on the sidelines.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostWho is Roose Bolton?
Spoiler for Bolton spoiler for those that have read the books:Roose Bolton's bastard son plays such a huge role in the future. I can't believe that they have not introduced the Bastard as Reek yet. It was Reek's idea to stage the murder of the Stark boys. Reek's betrayal of Theon at Winterfell as well as Theon's eventual transformation into Reek at the hand of the Bastard is a pretty big part of the future story.
I like that Arya has been the cup bearer of Twyin. I think it is an improvement to the story, but the books give some insight into the Boltons when Ayra is the cup bearer for Lord Bolton. The Boltons are a really effed up group of people.Dyslexics are teople poo...

Couldn't stay interested in tonight's episode. Mpfunk reports they're bleeding into the third book of the series now. Here's hoping a solid season doesn't start to fizzle out towards the end . . ."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge

It was a good episode and is setting up the final 2 episodes, which will include a huge battle scene. I don't have a problem with the books overlapping. The LOTR movies did the same thing. It has to be done sometimes. I'm totally digging this season.Originally posted by Mrs. Funk View PostCouldn't stay interested in tonight's episode. Oh, this season has been great. And believe it or not, I'm not a blood and guts kinda gal. And you are right. It's a better episode than I gave it credit for last night. A lot of important foundation, even if that meant the characters spent most of the episode standing around talking.Originally posted by OrangeUte View PostIt was a good episode and is setting up the final 2 episodes, which will include a huge battle scene. I think I was tired and easily distracted. Plan to rewatch it today.

So do I. My understanding is that they will. That the after battle scenes to this point were a way to save money so that justice can be done to the battle of Blackwater Bay.Originally posted by Maximus View Postlets hope they actually show a battle this time.
Spoiler for ...:Also, I've heard that Tyrion receives a nasty facial wound in the books during the battle. I hope they omit this from the HBO version. Not sure if the wound is an important plot point but I say leave Peter Dinklage's face alone - his mug is on the cover of Rolling Stone mag!“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. I wish Robb Stark's new girlfriend was instead cast as the wilding girl taking care of the little Stark boys.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
