    Shawshank
    Tombstone
    River Runs Through It
    Schindler's List
    La Vita e Bella

This is a tough list to put together without much thought and I suppose it will change after I mull it over.

We should expand this and do a series of lists of five films from different national film traditions that everyone should see. The idea being this would give you a flavor of that nation's cinema.

I'll start it off with Italy (big surprise here):

          Umberto D
          L'Avventura
          Il gattopardo (The Leopard)
          Amarcord
C'eravamo tanto amati (We all loved each other so much)
Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia
God forgives many things for an act of mercy
          Alessandro Manzoni

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Is "What About Mary" your english translation of a foreign rename of "There's Something About Mary"

(seriously, this happens all the time in Brazil: "Que Aconteceu com Mary?", for example)

No, it is a little known documentary released in the late 60's dealing with the emerging use of Marijauna amongst Montana Beaver Trappers.
