For some reason that guy has always annoyed the hell out of me. Go figure.

Sounds like it wasn't much of a fight.

      • After binging 7 episodes of the last Stranger Things season, I have decided that I'm all in. I used to feel that after season 3 it had lost steam and the 4th was just all over the place. And there's still a lot going on that I'm not sure how everything is going to be tied up. But despite the multiple, heart-to-heart discussions happening.all.the.time even though there's no time for any of it, in every episode, the sheer earnestness of it all is still fun to watch. I am including the coming out reveal right before another life or death battle that could have really flopped badly but what was saved by its wholesomeness. I decided this when I realized that for all its faults, the story of El and how they portray her physic journeys in blackness is just plain badass, and makes the whole enterprise worth it.

Still love Hopper, El, and Max. Getting tired of Joyce, and Steve and Dustin's bickering is teetering on being annoying. Jonathan and Nancy are getting annoying, but their confessions scene was done very well.

        • Yeah the bickering is getting old. And Hopper being overprotective of El is way overdone. Enough already.

          • It was worth it. All the plot holes, all the tired tropes, all the whining. The way Stranger Things ended was all worth it.

            • Final episode was a solid ending. The final scene of the original group (Plus-1) was very moving.

              • OK, we finished the Stranger Things series. I have a few gripes. Seems like they dragged everything out too much. Half of the final season was characters working through their emotions with endless boring conversations and naval gazing while the fate of the world was in the balance. This series has always required suspension of disbelief, but the plot holes this last season were off the charts. Too much dumb infighting and then making up.

That being said, we like it overall. Ending was well-crafted and the characters have always been likable. I hope they don't do any kind of sequel. That would ruin it.

Yeah. I like the meme I saw online about how amazing it was that Max graduating high school on time, even after being in a coma for 2 years.

I ended up taking my daughter to the movie theater for the finale. It was fun and worth it. It translated well to the big screen. I do think that dragged things out after the climax way too long. But generally, they wrapped things up well.

My daughter made this statement. “Dustin and Steve are annoying this season.”

I found Dustin to be more annoying but all that talk of not killing either of them before these final episodes kinda blew up as I think this was an overall sentiment from most.

                    • I thought the season finale was great. The whole final season, really. Sure, lots of feelings and lots of long conversations when the future of the world was in balance. But that is consistent with the rest of the show. Vecna/Henry was fantastic. We saw it on the big screen. My kids loved it.

In the last scene of the episode, it showed a graphic that said something like "Stranger Things - a Role Playing Fantasy Game". Having never played DnD as a kid, I imagine that the pacing of the show is probably consistent with a role playing game. Lots of conversations about strategies and possibilities injected in between action sequences.

This is true. I played for about a year. LOTS of nerdy conversations about strategy, etc.

                          Seconded.

We just finished it. The characters are kind of crazy but very likable. The pace is super hectic and you will miss half the jokes if you don't have subtitles on. There's a nice mix of LOL comedy and some tender moments.

I'm still laughing that James was actually a student at the catholic girls school for the entire time, and it worked!

                          • The Rip with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck isn't too bad. The plot twist is pretty easy to spot in advance, but not a bad action flick.
