  • The thing that triggered ET for me was the kids playing Dungeons and Dragons circa 82.

The girl who played Eleven was outstanding. Really fun story that was tightly written and directed. No filler. Each episode advanced the plot with a satisfying ending. It almost felt like I was watching a summer blockbuster movie instead of a tv show. This show is what I hoped Super 8 would be and I liked Super 8.

I wonder if season 2 will continue the story or not. I'm undecided which way I want it to go. I'm leaning towards each season being it's own thing because I liked the way this season ended.

        • Stranger things first two episodes are average at best.

          • I thought the series was just ok. Maybe my expectations were elevated because of early rave reviews like the ones in this thread and others on fb. Ultimately pretty unsatisfying without being as engaging as Lost. The 1983 nostalgia was really fun, though.

It's ok-- you can admit you went way overboard.

Lost sucked, btw. Hated that series.

Did you really watch the whole thing? It was ultimately unsatisfying, but it was compelling. That thing had you watching 6 seasons of hour-long episodes while providing basically no answers along the way. And the characters were so awesome- Benjamin Linus? Are you kidding me? One of the greatest villains ever. Stranger Things-- I kept going on the strength of the reviews and the fact there were only 8 episodes. SJBH.

I got a season or two in and bailed. Lots of people told me it would get worse, not better.

Season 2 is the slow season w the computer code thingy. It actually picked up quite a bit in 3 IIRC.

I agree, Lost was compelling (for a while). Sucked at the end, but that's a different story.

Also, Stranger Things season 2 already announced.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

                            • So Last Chance U just dropped on Netflix last Friday. It's a 6-part documentary of JUCO football, the last chance for kids who didn't make it to a Division 1 school, featuring East Mississippi Community College.
