I finished it recently (we started it like...two days earlier. Very addicting).

The ending was frustrating. Definitely setting up for a season 2, but unfortunately I'll have to wait a year for it.

The review I read made it sound like the payoff was a bunch of weird interpretive flash dances. Until someone can convince me otherwise I'm staying away.

I finally got around to watching Stranger Things this week. I really enjoyed it for reasons already discussed by others here. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Found a great new aussie series of 6 episodes, called The Glitch. The first 2 episodes are fantastic. Note that this is the Aussie series, not the movie of the same name on Netflix about a video game.



Now I know that some of you question my taste in mini series-- so dont take my word for it-- take it from the Daily Beast:

In the small Australian town of Yoorana, six deceased locals—hailing from various time periods—all decide to crawl out of their cemetery graves one night, much to the astonishment of police sergeant James Hayes (Patrick Brammall), who’s even more shocked to see that one of those zombies is his late wife Kate (Emma Booth), who succumbed to breast cancer a couple of years earlier. This turn of events severely freaks James out, and he’s further flummoxed by his discovery that none of these revitalized individuals (subsequently dubbed “the Risen”) can actually leave Yoorana; trying to cross town lines results in bleeding from their eyes, followed by literal disintegration.

Recently watched series 3 of The Fall. The worst of the 3 seasons so far, IMO. Super, ridiculously slow. This from someone who loved the pacing in Mad Men, mind you. It picked up in the last 1.5 eps, but not enough to save the season.

Another really good netflix series that you can binge on: Travellers. I really like Eric McCormick in his role as an FBI agent, but this is the character I really like:



Played by Jared Abrahamson, who is so wet behind the ears that he doesn't have a fan club yet. When he's not an actor, he fights in MMA as WolfBlood Abrahamson, and he has a very attractive voice. It sounds like he got chopped in his larnyx or something. Each episode has 3 F-words uttered- usually two by the female scientist doctor who has quite the potty mouth, and a third utterance by one of the other characters.

I binged Travelers over the past week or so. Pretty good, some plot holes but I'll be back for the second season if it gets renewed. Didn't like the network TV style cliff hanger in the season finale.

Deep Water. Documentary about 1968 solo around-the-world yacht race. Fantastic. If you don't know the story, don't google it first.

Just started watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend after seeing it on several top 10 lists. Only two episodes in so far, but I'm really liking it. Very unique and pretty damn funny.

I'm secure enough in my manhood to admit I'm liking this one too. Reminds me of Flight of the Conchords but funnier.
