After it happened I read that the latest event went down because the actor in question didn't like what his character was being given to do and wanted out. So this isn't the result of the writers shaking things up. No guarantee the result will be positive.Comment

We'll be seeing more of the actress that played Sybil. She's really hot and she'll do just fine.
As for the actor that played Matthew Crawley...well, he went full Shelly Long with wanting off the show. Stupid move.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”Comment

I'm not going to lie, there is a part of me that hopes he has career arc like Shelly. I watched a great documentary not long ago called That Guy...Who Was In That Thing. It followed 16 actors who everyone would immediately recognize but you'd be hard pressed to identify them by name. It was interesting to hear their struggles and successes. Any of these guys would kill to have been a lead on show like Downton, and to walk away from that? The other thing to consider is that people make fun of these actors that take either these bit roles in countless movies and TV shows, or the actors that are in Lifetime movies, but these people still make bank.
