I just watched all of Slow Horses. Fun show. The books are better. Jackson Lamb is way funnier and racist, part of being funnier, in the books.

Season 1 was almost exactly the same as the book.

Season 2 diverged in a lot of ways, and I am not sure they were all good. The series makes these people look way too competent.

I’m a few episodes into Shrinking and it’s pretty fun. I like Jason Segel so I’m biased. Harrison Ford is pretty funny as well.

My wife and I are enjoying the series. Very likable characters. However, the plot has a huge flaw. They have a beautiful suite of offices and very nice homes (swimming pools, etc) and they drive nice cars (that Bronco is amazing). All on therapists salaries? Lol. gtfo.

In Pasadena, no less! But c'mon JL, you've got to suspend your belief a little bit in any tv show or movie.

I finished the season last night. Such fun characters. The three therapists are all perfectly case. I've said before how great Jessica Williams. I still can't believe they got Harrison Ford on the show. But he is perfect as the grumpy old therapist. His comedic chops are as sharp as ever.

Perhaps my favorite line of his: "You told her about our hug?"

I was a little surprised when I first saw Christa Miller (Liz) in the show, although she is excellent - despite all the terrible plastic surgery she's undergone.. Then I saw Neil Flynn (the janitor from Scrubs, dad from The Middle) in a cameo. Only after I finished the series did I learn that the co-creator, Bill Lawrence, is a) married to Christa Miller, and b) the creator of Scrubs. Also, the other co-creator is Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent from Ted Lasso - which Bill Lawrence also co-created!). Lots of fun connections.

Apparently there will be 3 seasons of Shrinking. Season 2 has already been greenlit.

The way I squared that circle was to admit to myself that I didn't want to see these characters in the kinds of crappy duplexes in Burbank that they could actually afford. Yuck.

It's so bad it was distracting the first few episodes. Someone really messed up her eyes. I wonder if the guy who plays her husband has had surgery and just has a better surgeon? He was in Animal House ffs, and he was too old to play a college student then.

Eyes, but also cheeks/mouth. Starting to look like Demi Moore.

Derrick (the husband) is a hidden gem in the show, which is already full of hidden gems. I thought at first there would be something bad with him, like they actually hated each other and would divorce, but they just have a funny dynamic. Maybe something will happen in season 2 or 3 when he's retired.

Fun Derrick lines: "D-man is going to be a B-man!" and "Why am I even here if you aren't going to use me?" "What was I going to do, not watch?"
