Yep, and I'm serious about the promo code. They run new ones all the time and you can get the movie free for a night.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

As for Bigelow, she is certainly a "tough guy" director. She made POINT BREAK and NEAR DARK for heaven's sake.
Agreed on David Morse. He's also great in Contact, which I still adore after all these years.

Hurt Locker would also be my pick for best picture. The acting isn't as good as Up in the Air, it's not as fun to watch as Avatar, and I've heard from a couple war vets that it has 0% relationship to reality, but it's still gripping stuff.

That's an interesting comment about the war vets. I've also talked to war vets who praised the fidelity to actual combat practice in the TRANSFORMERS movies. And yet those movies are complete shit. I can't help wondering whether HURT LOCKER may get details wrong, but is somehow truer in the end.

I watched it last night; it's a very powerful movie. It will probably lose to Avatar at the Oscars, but I thought it was a much better film. Avatar's appeal, at least for me, lies solely in the dazzling visual spectacle. The Hurt Locker gets you at a visceral level and has some great performances. Since the directors of the films are ex-spouses the Oscar battle will be especially interesting.

This will sound sexist, and i guess it is, but it doesn't seem like a movie that was directed by a woman (I think KL alluded to this). Very gritty, lots of action with a macho soundtrack (the final scene is especially great). Bigelow is a superb director.

Netflix received mine today, so I'm sure you're getting my copy. I should have included some kind of note, or perhaps edited in some risque footage from the Tahoe Pre-ride dinner.

Fantastic movie and I agree that the suspense never lets up. Great build-up without going into unnecessary detail. Would be my pick.

It reminded me of The Departed that way.

I wonder if the director had Guy Pearce chewing gum throughout his role to disguise his broad aussie accent.
Did he chew his gum in manner that you could hear him chewing? If the movie has loud gum chewing sounds, I will not watch it. The sound of people eating loudly or chewing gum loudly makes me sick.

                    There's something wrong with you.

But no, you won't notice it.

If not wanting to hear the disgusting sounds of people chewing means there is something wrong with me, I do not want to be right. I cannot think of a single good excuse for someone to chew with their mouth open. I almost had to get up and leave in the middle of class once because of the girl 2 seats down who was loudly chewing gum.

Yes, something is wrong with you. In my experience your condition is relatively common. What I don't get is why such a tiny percentage of people that have your condition are also aware of how weird it is, and that the problem lies with you at least as much as with anyone else. Eating is a normal biological process. You might find it disgusting, but that makes you the strange one.

Sure, if someone is particularly loud about it that's one thing, but your aggressiveness suggests that you don't reserve your disdain for special cases.

I don't find eating disgusting at all, I find the process of people who feel a need to open their mouth and make noises while eating disgusting; that is a big difference. The vast majority of people are polite and do not sit there and eat with their mouths open.

So you consider yourself normal? You asked if a character in a movie chewed gum with his mouth open as a criterion for whether you'd see the movie. Dude, not normal.

No I asked if you can hear him chew, not if you can see it.
