I'm looking forward to seeing it in wider release this year - it premiered at Sundance (best documentary).

I watched this last night. Unbelievable. If you want to see exactly what these guys are going through in the advanced area outposts, the effects it has on them, the afghans, and what war in the 21st century is like, I recommend this film very highly. There are very heatbreaking moments, and to hear them first hand and understand that these guys make mistakes that take lives on both sides and them own up to those mistakes and the anguish it causes them. It is painful to watch, but worth it.

BTW, Restrepo should be on demand with your service provider till December 8th. Look under the national geographic channel.

That's good to know. I saw that it actually aired on Nat. Geo channel the other day but I only found that out when it was almost over. I wonder if it's re-airing.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

I watched Restrepo tonight on netflix, its on instant now. A couple of things really stood out to me the terrain and the remoteness. You read in the papers about the rugged terrain but it looked like everyone was living on the side of a cliff. The Korengal Valley seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere even for Afghan standards. The shear emotion of seeing the soldiers narrate their own story and deal with the losses and harsh conditions was very moving.

I watched Restrepo tonight. We need to get those men the hell out of those wars this year.
