Just saw "Song Sung Blue"

Neil Diamond fans will enjoy it - the music is toe tapping (Mr Jackman's voice not withstanding )
and I am one of them

I saw Neil Diamond for the first time in the old Salt Palace just before I went into the LTM. It was his second concert, the first was in Logan the night before, after a three year brake to compose the music for Jonathon Livingston Seagull. I've seen him several times since. Mrs Happy has his music on repeat on her Spotify

I thought Ms Hudson did a very good job, I liked her singing voice

The story is a real tear jerker, so bring Kleenex

Mrs Happy insisted that we see it - and there is something about seeing a movie in a theater and not on the big screen in the Family Room!

I thought he made a Hugh step up from Les Mis to Greatest Showman. Haven't seen Song Sung Blue, but really appreciate the work he had obviously put in between the aforementioned two shows.

Song Sung Blue - I like Neil Diamonds songs and music. My mom loved his stuff and I grew up hearing it all the time at home and in the car. It was nostalgic hearing the music during the movie and I teared up a bit at I Am I Said. The movie was decent but it would have been mid without the ND music.

Ya’ll need to raise your cinematic demands. Knives Out 3 is hot garbage. It was right on par with, if not slightly worse than, the second one.

Wake up Dead Man, the latest Knives Out movie, is pretty good. Solid acting and interesting characters. There's actually some nice nods to spirituality. Not as good as the first, better than the second. Solid B.

In the “other dumb shit” category, Disney is routinely derided for making their movies more woke and obsessing with identity politics. South Park did a whole episode, “Joining the Panderverse”, calling out Disney’s wokitude.

This is what I was talking about.

They didn't do anything that has caused most of their movies to recently bomb. They stayed away from agendas and just put together a fun movie.

I'm not sure it's going back to their roots, but the primary MO exhibited by Disney is to pump out sequels, "live actions", remakes, and other unoriginal "universes" (i.e. Marvel, Star Wars).

It seems to have treated them well as that is where they are making their money, so I can't blame them, but I would prefer more original content.

Zootopia 2. Really enjoyed it. I thought it was better than the first one.

This was the first time that I have been in the movie theater in probably two years. It was fun.

I will say this...Disney went back to their roots and didn't do any of the dumb shit that they have been doing in recent years that ended up being self-sabotaging.
