Liked it. Great performances by Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal. It's kind of "The Wrestler" for country music.

Wasn't "The Wrestler" kind of "Walk the Line" for Wrestling? I'm just going off representations, as I never saw "Walk the Line".
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

        • Went and saw Date Night over the weekend. A lot better than I thought it would be. My wife and I laughed a lot.

Funny, because about a quarter way into it my wife said "this is just The Wrestler set to country music." Then she made this big prediction about how the whole thing was going to unfold. I had a good time giving her shit when her guess wasn't even close.

I had no idea Maggie Gyllenhaal's role was so big in it, as I might have avoided the film. I'm just now starting to get over the mental and emotional anguish of being subjected to her banana pancake boobs in Sherry Baby.

            • Pathology

Yikes/wow/yikes. This is an extremely graphic movie about a group of pathology residents that make a game out of killing people in creative ways to see if the other pathologist residents can figure out the cause of death.

I really liked the movie. It had like a triple twist of an ending.

Aw come on, I still watch movies with Kathy Bates and I've seen ABOUT SCHMIDT. Twice.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

                  • netflixed the movie Neverwas. This movie was never released in the theaters. I selected it because I was impressed by the sheer talent power of the cast. Everyone in this movie is a great actor. How could the movie be so bad?

                    Aaron Eckhart
                    Ian McKellen
                    Nick Nolte
                    Jessica Lange
                    William Hurt
                    Brittany Murphy
                    Bill Bellamy
Alan Cumming (who has like, 8 lines in the entire movie. His american accent is impeccable. I was amazed)
                    Vera Farmiga
                    Michael Moriarty

I hated the cinematography, and while watching the movie, I kept thinking "You know, this story would have been better as a book." Eckhart's charisma was obvious, and Brittany Murphy was way prettier as a brunette. Bottom line: this movie was shockingly blah.

                    • The family watched Alice In Wonderland last night. It is the first Tim Burton movie I can remember enjoying. I could be forgetting something he has done though.

In addition to those, Beetle Juice? Big Fish?

I like a lot of his other stuff, but at a minimum I thought the named films were pretty universally loved.
