        • Django definitely deserves its own thread, but being against thread-proliferation and all, I'm not about to be the one that starts it.

This might be the best movie I've seen all year, Tarantino's infatuation with the N-word notwithstanding. As for the length, three hours in a movie theater have never passed quicker for me. Waltz is just as brilliant as he was in inglourious basterds, even if the role won't garner him the same hardware considerations. And Jamie Foxx was fantastic; I didn't complain about his overacting a single time, which is a first. Though in smaller roles, Samuel L. and Leo are both great, of course.

The over-the-top-gore is very typical of a QT spectacle, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't cringe a couple times.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Yep. Saw it last night and loved it. I kind of noticed the length in the beginning, but like Tolkien's books themselves, once you're past the exposition the ride starts and you forget all about the slight self-indulgences.

Did anyone else love the breathtaking scenery? I sure did. It made me want to visit New Zealand.

Cool, can't wait to see it. Wife's getting tougher at negotiating these things lately. The trailers aren't helping me out on this one. I'm going to have to check off a lot of honey-do's before she gives in.

Why negotiate? Go see by yourself or take your kids.

                • Looper. Outstanding.

I had low expectations due to the time travel thing but was pleasantly surprised.

                    I'm with you.

And I'm holding out for a full length movie on The Scouring of the Shire -- I'll get roasted on this, but this is my favorite part of LOTR. The changed little people come back and take charge of their little part of the world.

Awesome movie and one of the best of the year in my estimation. I still support banning RC for not liking it.

I don't like sci-fi, I don't like horror and I don't like movies where everybody is yelling at each other. The kid being able to throw people around with his brain because he was mad was just plain stupid. I wanted to like this movie, the main idea was solid but I just couldn't get past the kid.

Sounds ridiculous. Thanks for the review, RC, now I won't have to waste my time with it.

                              The kid was great.

And way to go with the spoilers.

If you don't care for horror films like looper you may dig a good action/thriller joint like les mis.
