600mm is roughly equivalent to 12x power binoculars. And it auto-focuses. I never use binoculars when I have my camera with me. Which 150-600?

It was a Tamron, but I'm looking at Sigma. Lower price and I love my Sigma 18-300. Still not sure if I can justify it. The guy I borrowed it from uses what amounts to a shooting scope hooked into the camera to follow the birds in flight when using it. Says it works pretty well.

I have a small pair that my kids share but for the most part we don't. The zoom lens, on the other hand, is very helpful to capture what I want to.

Wife wanted to go to the bird refuge in Box Elder County for Mother's Day, so off we went. I am currently test driving a 150-600 lens which was able to get these. My only complaint is following birds in flight with it out at 600 is not easy.

That's what I'm talking about!

Birds in flight are tough, similar muscle memory to shotguns tracking clay pigeons. You have to be able to find it quickly.

I can watch birds in my back yard. Here's a recent shot of a falcon eating a dove on my lawn.
