    Almost Eddie.

For my birthday, my sister gave me this gorgeous poster, which I will mat and hang at work. I grew up about a mile from here and know this beach like the back of my hand. (Not the water, just the beach). It's called "Almost Eddie."

Spoiler for For those who don't get the title of this poster:
The only surf event held here is the Eddie Aikau, and only if the waves get to be quite large. These pro surfers are lined up and ready to go out on the water, but they have to get the signal from the judge that will tell them the waves have met the minimum required size. That's why there's no one already in the water.

I've taken up surfing here and have a teacher now. It's awesome and no sharks, too

I guess this could go in the diner thread.

Every hospital that I work at provides "free" food in the physician's lounge. Usually it is something simple like soup or sandwiches although I have heard that the new hospital in Park City puts out a killer spread. Mostly I enjoy the convenience of it, regardless of the taste.

Today the folks at one of the hospitals here in SLC went over the top.

NO! It would have looked much better than that.
