Yeah, that lady's death in Brazil is just crazy. The skydivers weren't technically killed by skydiving as the plane crashed just after takeoff, but I agree with you that skydiving and bungee jumping are activities I will happily skip in life with no regrets.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI have had long-standing and firm resolutions that skydiving and bungee jumping are two activities I will never participate in. This weekend has done nothing but strengthen this resolve.

This is the reason I didn't go to Jump School when I was in the Army (I had a couple of chances) - why jump out of a perfectly good airplane!Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI have had long-standing and firm resolutions that skydiving and bungee jumping are two activities I will never participate in. repelling out of Helicoptors was enough excitement!!!
The colollary to "Jumping out of..." is "Nobody ever said the Air Force had perfectly good airplanes"

I wanted to but never had the chance. Now that I'm older and wiser, I'm glad I never put my body through that.Originally posted by happyone View Post

Just like I wanted to play football in high school but my Mom said no. Now I'm glad I didn't put my body through that.

Since I would have been a 5 jump chump if the S1 at OBC had actually reserved a slot in addition to cutting orders. At least I got TDY instead of leave, even though it more or less wound up being leave taking the scenic drive from Lawton to Columbus and then back to SLC.“Every player dreams of being a Yankee, and if they don’t it’s because they never got the chance.” Aroldis Chapman

So I don't know if the first post was in reference to the story below, but a guy I work with just got back from Utah. He actually base jumped with this guy on Friday. Two days later the guy is dead. The head space of my coworker is a bit complicated right now.

Edit: that was actually permissive TDY.

Wesley Ruff of KTVX Sports-Channel 4 has retired afte41 yrs at the station
He has more time at one channel in the SLC market than anyone not named Dick Nourse
I hadn't realized he had been there that long.

One would think that someone with the intellectual capacity to get a white collar job at a decently large tech company would also have the necessary motor skills and cultural awareness to not pee all over the floor when standing at the urinal.
But one would be wrong.
Why is so hard to pee into the urinal instead of all over the urinal and floor? There is even an “aim mark” in the urinal scientifically placed in the spot that would cause the least splashing. (If you always wondered what the little logo in the urinal was for, now you know.)
