I didn't know it was a thing until after watching "Val" on Amazon Prime, but I would have liked to see Val Kilmer's Mark Twain performance.

Not really a play, but I'd love to see Richard Brecky perform as Jellybean.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I think he must have come out to perform for us in Iraq back in December 2003. I really don't remember anything about it.

        • Watching a British TV show, I noticed how they washed the dishes but never rinsed them before drying them off. That reminded me of my mission, and I saw that often. When I asked why they didn't rinse the dishes off before drying them, they felt as if I was the quirky one, overly concerned about residual germs and soap.

There's a good bidet joke in there - but dang if I can't clean the closet to find it.

              • I left my cell phone at home--which in and of itself is liberating--but I'm wondering if that's a sign I should have stayed home today.

My buddy was telling me about this book recently. I have it in my queue now.

I couldn't agree with that premise more. We went camping last weekend with my daughter and her young family. When we took the ATV's out, my six-year-old grandson didn't want to go. He wanted to stay in the camper and play games on his cell phone. Yeah, that's right, he's six years old and he has a cell phone. At night, when we were around the campfire roasting hot dogs and smores, he was in the the camper playing games on his phone. I don't get it, but I'm grateful that I grew in a time when childhood required a little more effort.

                        • For dinner tonight I made a "cheeseburger salad." It was actually okay, but my wife said she'd prefer a taco salad. That reminded me of this commercial, part of what is likely my favorite ad campaign of all time.

Also my favorite ad campaign. IIRC it was a series of radio ads first, and they were so well received they turned them into TV commercials. Further trivia (I am 90% sure I am remembering this correctly): It was originally "Real American Heroes" on the radio spots, and then after 9/11, they changed it to "Real Men of Genius", as we were a little more sensitive about who we called "Heroes" for a while
