  • I find the actions of a couple Massachusetts congressmen very amusing...

First, John Kerry buys a luxury yacht from New Zealand and docks in Rhode Island to avoid $500,000 plus $70K/yr in state taxes. I guess Kerry is now a fan of outsourcing and tax avoidance.

Second, Barney Frank threw a fit over over not getting his $1 senior discount. Frank, however, has no problem with spending billions of other people's money.

Massachusetts should be very proud of their congressmen.

Here's something else out of Massachusetts that I found interesting: http://www.boston.com/news/local/bre...?p1=News_links

If the Governor signs it, Massachusetts's Electoral College votes will go to the candidate who wins nationally.
      Not that, sickos.

        88888
        88

This was particularly disappointing to me, as I try to make a point to catch the odometer when it is reading palindromic (one of many obsessive-compulsive habits I deal with). And what better palindromic numeral is there than 88888, which is not only a palindrome, but is actually a mirror image of itself when cut in half.

        I'll stop scaring you now.

I don't think it surprises anybody that Massachusetts is full of a bunch of bandwagon jumpers.

Looks like his wife's trust he is now agreeing to pay the tax.

              • WTF? Shouldn't one skin and clean the cat before marinating it for cooking?

Maybe a quick background check should be made by SPCA before approving an adoption to an insane person:

“Do not under any circumstances adopt to this man ever again. He claims he did not want the cat because it was ‘possessive, greedy and wasteful.’ That the cat got pregnant after ‘spaying,’ even though it was a neutered male. This man is a danger to animals. . . . was soaking cat in marinade to ‘cook.’ ”
"Possessive, greedy, and wasteful" pretty much describes all cats, however.

                      • Divorced
                      • Domestic Partners
                      • Gay

                      • Separated
                      • Single
                      • Widowed

I recall in the old days of the IBM monochrome monitor (1980's) you could burn it out by turning off the horizontal sync signal (writing an incorrect value to a control port in software). The monitor would burn up and smoke. Don't ask me how I know this.

I remember someone mailed my dad a Kaypro 10 to fix. It would boot from a floppy, but the HDD wouldn't budge. My dad tried every diagnostic he could think of. He spent hours on the thing. Finally, he got pissed and just knocked the crap out of the side of it. It started humming in that "grrrrunt grrrrrrunt" way that old HDDs did, and worked like a charm. He figured that the head hadn't been properly parked before shutting down.

I always liked the Eagle Spirit more than the Kaypro, but the Kaypro keyboard was the best.
